A 48” carbon fiber driveshaft is nearly 90% stronger than a steel driveshaft of the same length. Our shaft is made with .155" wall carbon fiber for the very highest torque rating of any driveshaft material. And not all carbon fiber is made the same.
A 48” carbon fiber driveshaft is about 10 lbs lighter than the same shaft in steel. Carbon fiber and aluminum have similar weight profiles however; the carbon fiber shaft is still slightly lighter. A lighter driveshaft means a quicker start off the line, more horsepower to the rear wheels and the highest critical speeds of any driveshaft material.
A carbon fiber driveshaft produces less NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) because of its superior ability to absorb and dampen vibrations. The unique torsional flexibility of carbon fiber allows it to twist more than steel or aluminum under load, which helps to dampen shock loads and vibrations before they are transmitted through the drivetrain.
Our forged aluminum yoke ends are made from 2024 Aluminum for longest life in the highest horsepower vehicles. Most aftermarket ends are made of 6061 or even 7075 Aluminum. 2024 has a 60% higher yield strength (breaking point) and a 21% higher service temperature compared to 6061. When power is high and durability is a must, our carbon fiber driveshaft can take a beating in the most demanding applications.
No one wants it to happen but, when a driveshaft does go, carbon fiber self-destructs in the safest manner of all materials. The mating halves of a twisted Steel or aluminum shaft will batter the underside of the vehicle potentially causing expensive damage. The critically damaged carbon fiber shaft breaks down into its fiber strands which can’t harm the vehicle or driver.

When the horsepower or application require the ultimate in driveshaft strength, carbon fiber is the way to go. Neither steel or aluminum can match the strength to weight ratio of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber also improves vehicle NVH for the smoothest ride. With a carbon fiber driveshaft, you will have the most power transferred from engine to rear end.
