One Piece Driveshaft Measuring Guide - With Slip Yoke

Use this guide to measure driveshaft length for most cars, vans, 2WD trucks, and 4WD front and rear shafts.

Measure Instructions: It is important to measure the driveshaft length when the vehicle’s axle is in the normal riding position. The axle must be supported on safety stands - not hanging down. 

 

Driveshaft Measuring Guide

 Transmission Output Type -
SEAL

Measurement (A) - DRIVESHAFT LENGTH:
Measure from end of rubber seal on the transmission to the flat face of the end yoke or flange on the differential.

Measurement (B) - SPLINE EXTRUSION LENGTH:
Measure from end of rubber seal to end the of the transmission output. If spline is recessed in rubber seal, measurement can be noted as ø.

 Transmission Output Type - 
RUBBER BOOT EXTENSION

Measurement (A) - DRIVESHAFT LENGTH:
Measure from end of rubber boot extension on the transmission to the flat face of the end yoke or flange on the differential.

Measurement (B) - SPLINE EXTRUSION LENGTH:
Measure from end of rubber boot extension on the end of transmission output. If spline is recessed in rubber boot extension, enter ø.
