One Piece Driveshaft Measuring Guide - With Yoke Shaft

Use this guide to measure driveshaft length for a driveshaft with a yoke shaft. This style driveshaft is often found on vehicles with a 8L90E transmission or Auto Trac, 241C transfer case.

Measure Instructions: It is important to measure the driveshaft length when the vehicle’s axle is in the normal riding position. The axle must be supported on safety stands - not hanging down.

Transmission Output Type -
Boot and Female Spline

Measurement (A) - DRIVESHAFT LENGTH:
Measure the rubber seal on the transfer case or transmission to the end yoke or flange face on the differential.

Measurement (B) - BOOT EXTRUSION LENGTH:
Measure the rubber seal on the transfer case or transmission to the end of the boot, measurement can be noted as ø. Your transfer case or transmission should have a boot installed on it. If you are missing your boot consider adding replacement boot 40123472 (1410) or 40021327 (3R) to your driveshaft order.
