We use the OEM American Axle cold forged u-joint - the same one that comes in a brand new truck. The Carbon Fiber tubing is 4.00 Inch ID \/ 4.310 Inch OD premium Carbon Fiber seamless material that is 1\/8 inch thick -- rated for over 8,000 ft\/lbs of torque! It will handle even the heaviest towing loads. Most of the OEM one piece Aluminum shafts are only 0.083 inch thick. Some Rams have the smaller 1415 u-joint but we recommend you upsize you this 1485 shaft since the transfer case yoke and flange bolt pattern are the same on all of the Ram 4x4 trucks. The upsized driveshaft will last longer due to the bigger u-joint.
